At first, I was upset that the parents let that kid get into the exhibit. However, after Karen made that point about how kids get out of their parents sight often, I remembered that, as a kid, my own mother accidentally left me at Target. Her best friend that had like eight kids made keeping up with all of us difficult. Luckily, I was old enough to know her number and called before she got too far down the road. And, even all these years later, I have never seen my mother as a bad parent. I remember clear as day the look the employees gave my mom’s friend as she came to get me from the service center (my mom was too embarrassed to retrieve me herself). I bet these parents have been getting those looks since the accident. I don’t want to have kids because I know how hard of a job it is to be a parent, so thank you Karen for putting my perspective back in place.
