I deadass had no clue who Finn Jones was for a good 10-15 minutes. I thought y’all were making a joke about John Boyega and Van Jones. I thought my dude had fucked up! Then i was like hol’ up lemme google this nigga, this convo doesn’t make sense.
The Queen is back!! Great show as always, but we all know Karen is the real reason folks paying the money for premium. And damn Rod, y’all better take a real vacation this year and not just travelling to panels. I swear between all the premium shows here and MTR and BAP I get four or five shows a day showing up in my feed. That Black excellence never stops
What’s up guys and Karen. I listened to this episode and I am conflicted. The Iron Fist showrunners had quite the conundrum on their hands. Cast an Asian male as the lead and provide representation for a marginalized/stereotyped group or be true to the source material. Over the years, the one consistent criticism I’ve heard from comic book readers is that people don’t respect the source material. Its one of the things that Kriss and DPalm express frustration over time and time on their show. Its something Rod and Aaron have given voice to as well. In no way am I excusing the people in charge of Iron Fist but the task of producing that show in today’s society wasn’t going to be easy. On a related note, I’m one of those people who were excited about Logan and meh on Doctor Strange. For me, the combination of Strange not being an Avenger and the arguments about the casting took away any excitement I could muster for it.
Comics wise, what recommendations can you give for someone who reads Howard the Duck, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, and Invincible Iron Man with RiRi Williams?
