Thank you so much for reminding me that I don’t need to apologize for everything. I really have a huge problem with always saying sorry when I really don’t need to. I had an issue with a white woman at work who felt that I yelled at her when she interrupted a conversation between my black manager and black coworker. I would never yell at someone in the workplace because it would be extremely unprofessional. She didn’t excuse herself when she came in the middle of our conversation and I did have an attitude when I addressed her by saying ‘We’re just reviewing something.’ Now it’s blown up into me being ‘extremely’ disrespectful to her when two witnesses disagree with her sequence of events because it’s not based in facts. It’s so frustrating to be lied on and portrayed as ‘the angry black woman’ when it’s simply not true in this instance. I could very easily apologize to her to resolve the situation, but aside from having an attitude, I never yelled, cursed or attacked her. At this point, I’m so sick and tired of being the bigger person and going above and beyond to make sure everyone’s happy. I wanted to apologize for this long ass comment, but I resisted the urge. Love ya lots Karen and Karen’s husband!
