I want to support black stories but its too hard to watch serious, sad, painful stories in this Trump era. Although I’m in my mid 40s and my mom hipped my brother and me to the institutional racism of America from when were kids. I was raised woke but I was hopeful especially when Obama a 2nd term . Now revisiting and seeing these events again feels twice as painful. I decided to see Girls Trip again instead and the theater was more packed and the mostly black female audience was more vocal through out. It was like going to church with all the amens. The movie was better the second time around.
