Another casualty of the push to ban gay couples from adopting is that just as gay couples take older children and LGTBQ children, they also adopt non-white children and are open to adopting siblings. It’s a damn shame that loving gay couples are being denied children when they are so often willing to provide homes and love to children most other perspective parents don’t want.
Thanks for your info regarding Georgia Senate Bill 375 (Keep The Faith in Adoption and Foster Care Act). I live in Senator Ligon’s District and made sure to call and give my thoughts regarding this legislative hate. While reading the bill, I stumbled across another bill he introduced. Bill 339 has to do with speech at colleges. It basically compels colleges and universities in Georgia to provide speaking opportunities for bigots and hate groups under the guise of free speech. It also was to be a punitive bill for interrupters of those speakers. While those provisions have been removed, the Georgia Senate passed the bill and it now goes before the Georgia House of Reps. I will be calling my Representative tomorrow. Shit is gettin’ crazy down here.
