Hey Rod,
I listen to you and Bassey’s (hope I spelled correctly) excellent review of This Is Us. That show is fantastic and I love you two’s discussion.
Anyway, I wonder if there is counseling on the set, for these young actors? It occurred to me that when actors like Lyric Ross, who plays Deja, play a role that will have social media buzzing, do the production team consider how the negative and positive responses by social media, may affect these young actors??
I’ve heard grown ass actors talk about the emotional toll a particular role, took, and how it took some guidance for them to handle it and this is without considering our society’s need to always give an opinion no matter the cost.
Kids like Jack Gleeson (Joffery from Game of Thrones) comes to mind. I’m afraid that if we, as a society, are just now puttin’ some respeck on the name of mental health, we may not yet consider EVERYONE’s mental health.
Just thinking out loud and looking forward to both of your responses.
Love You Two,
~Allegra A.
