Here’s the thing about Skyscraper that I wasn’t expecting. It’s not even bad, despite it potentially being bad. It’s competently made, as far as action goes. It was good seeing Never Campbell on-screen again, since, she hasn’t been in a film dating back to 2011 with Scream 4. Also, she kicked some ass too, which, I didn’t expect, so that was dope. I do agree with y’all about The Rock’s job in this joint being so boring & Will Sawyer as a character is such a basic-ass dude. I mean, I understand why he doesn’t use guns, but I wish the director would let The Rock do his thing. He built like a tank, let him go ham like one. Then again, I didn’t expect much from this movie. Things happen in the way that they happen. The dude that runs the Skyscraper, however, didn’t think he’d have such an important role. I thought the villain was a’ight, but nothing special. And yes, evil-ass Pablo Schreiber being his evil self like his brother Live. My issues aside, it’s a film worthy of matinee purchase.
