Hey Karen and Rod! I meant to leave a comment last week, when you all so beautifully told these stupid mother fcukers where to go and how to get there when it comes to voting. I was totally and completely caught off guard when y’all said that these son of bitches were bitching and moaning about OPRAH telling them to get out and go vote! When if she, under the same breath told they asses her favorite television or pair of pajamas, they would lose their minds and flood whatever site or store to go and get them! My family is from good ol’ Alabama (insert sarcasm here) and ever since I was a child, I have ALWAYS known how important my vote is, my parents, grandparents, and great-grandmother were sure to let me know. My grandparents would tell us stories about the injustices that we, as blacks, faced on a day-to-day basis, just living! I was made aware at a young age, how different it was for us back when my PARENTS were my age. I’m 37 years old and my parents drank out of those “Colored Only” water fountains and attended segregated schools. My father was the first black student to attend a private school there in Mobile, Alabama, so when I hear y’all talk about folks, BLACK folks feeling shamed because somebody told they stupid asses to get out and go vote, it infuriates me to no end!! The Sunday during early voting, John Lewis visited our church along with Beto O’Rourke, and when I tell you seeing THE John Lewis in “real life” was so overwhelming, it brought tears to my eyes. It was like seeing the stories my grandfather would tell in living color and it brought me such joy that I couldn’t wait to go and vote!! He spoke on how he was beaten and how many times he was arrested and that he would probably get arrested again LOL! I didn’t take my ass to work that next day, instead I had my ass up in the polling place, letting the ancestors know that I won’t ever forget what they sacrificed for me. I have a 13 year old and it’s my responsibility to make sure that he knows how important it is, hell, he hit the button to vote for Hilary:-) I feel the exact same way y’all do about folks that don’t vote, continue to give they asses the business and don’t let up. Y’all be blessed and continue to take care of each other. Oh and continue to live your best white woman life, my son saw them damn wings and thought it was a typo LOL! I told him we’ll have to give them a try and he said nah he’s good SMH…
