This movie is even passable if Rami Malek isn’t in it as Freddy Mercury. Dude drips confidence & swaggers with a presence in this film. I’ve never seen Mr. Robot & heard lots of good things about that program, but seeing Malek do this particular role, makes it seem like he’s done this for many years. Tbh, he saved this movie from being a subpar mess. For a 2+ hour film, it does seem like Bohemian Rhapsody is trying to get us to the end at break neck speed, not allowing us to get to know the band members, Mary Austin & Freddy’s parents (particularly, his conservative Father). I’m actually astonished this did get made, despite Bryan Singer leaving mid-production. Even more so, I’m surprised that I did enjoy it, flaws & all.
