That reading rainbow segment really was timely. The hospital (very prestigious/major name recognition) I work at had a company wide email go out that the police in full riot gear were going to be outside the entrance to applaud the first responders as we came into work. Most people there had no problem with it but it feels disingenuous.
Maybe it’s my own personal conspiracy theory but it feels like they’re trying to siphon whatever good PR they can get while America is praising medical, front end and couriers. I have a feeling the praise will go soon anyway.
I would have stayed home to avoid this clear photo op but the job, and the people who need help come first.
