Canada is a wonderful place to visit, the people are very friendly or at least the parts I’ve visited. That being said Canada has a long problematic history with the indigenous people in their country. In the late 1800s and the 1900s they were literally ripping native children away from their families to teach them Christianity and how not to be “savagesâ€â€ of course Canada has other racial issues as well but at least they have free healthcare and a functioning leader.
I grew up in Detroit so we would go to Canada often. Toronto is one of my favorite cities- especially in the summer when they have their Caribbean Carnival. I was supposed to go this summer but since our country has fumbled the response to Covid that won’t be happening.
Another great episode. I’m looking forward to read Morgan’s book. We don’t often hear about the Black Canadian experience so I’m glad that he’s getting a chance to put his story out there.
