Rod disagreed with a small part of my feedback last week about policing. According to the rules and regulations of social media, it is now incumbent upon me to sic my followers on him to say terrible and disgusting things on his timeline. Now let me stir up my 220 or so twitter follows, 170 of which are probably bots, including those big booty models that follow you to get you to follow back as a marketing tool for their onlyfans accounts. This may seem unseemly but hey, I don’t make the rules. Good soldiers follow orders.
On a serious note on a previous episode that I had missed initially you had read that essay from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. When I read that a couple of weeks ago I immediately thought of you guys because of the stuff you have been saying about social media the past few years. Her essay seemed like a distillation of everything that comes up on the show from time to time, that highlight how people behave online. Her mentions about people who ask you to educate yourself while not actually having read a book, or people who use the right words dovetail directly into topics you have discussed at length on the show. The essay encapsulated everything I think about social media. I changed how I used social media, especially twitter, years ago. These days twitter is just a news aggregator and Facebook is where I post corny shit that makes my kids roll their eyes and groan. All that to say keep on bussin’ that positive energy nut all over the internet. We see you and we appreciate it.
