Man, that sibling retribution is sweet! When a neighborhood kid was throwing rocks at me at the school bus stop, a few days later my older sister tripped him and he completely wiped out. I’m not a fan of violence, but I felt that was justified!

I was thinking, as an educator, should Propagander U be used in education…

And I’m thinking that the answer may be, possibly.

I mean, Propagander U is useless for teaching history or civics, or 99% of subjects. However, they are really useful for teaching media literacy. Breaking down portions of the videos to show how propaganda and misinformation work could actually be useful.

Everybody needs to get their bullshit detectors updated as newspapers lose subscribers, television news shifts to punditry over journalism, and social media is a festering swamp of the darkest depths of the worst people’s minds… Media literacy should be a larger priority in education. And examples of the most despicable, ludicrous, and malicious forms of propaganda, Propagander U, could be useful to inoculate and educate students.

So, I am going to go against the grain and say, yes, teachers should use Propagander U in their classes. But that they should use it to help students develop the ability to see through the thin veil of fuckwittery for what it is: unadulterated propaganda, indoctrination, brainwashing, and misinformation.

Sorry for the long post. I did cut it in half, but will try to make it shorter in the future.

    One more!

Most people who are undeserving called a genius are white men. Like Elon.
    About Iggy and the letter.
Most murderers don’t murder everyone they meet. In fact most of them just murder one person. Still very bad. So the saying: he was cool to me! Isn’t really saying anything.

About Jamie Foxx again. Of course people don’t know about the meaning of an explanation in another culture they aren’t familiar with. Because how could they? I live in a pretty much 99% white society with a terrible antisemitic past. People are very sensitive about it here. Same with other expressions. In America you can say gypsy as far as I know, here the German translation is a serious racial slur, comparable to the n word. Never say it in Germany. And why? The past and the Nazi regime and their actions.
I do consume podcast from other countries to learn more about the world.
Imagine someone from another culture saying or doing something that is a dangerous area in America and he meant it in a harmless way. I try to find an example that isn’t so extreme, maybe someone from another country using cotton flowers for decorating the house. This might get this person in trouble and them saying ” ask 100 people from my culture, it’s harmless and has nothing to do with trying to insult black people” wouldn’t really help.
Just to make it clear. I didn’t need any apology from Jamie but it was good that he said it wasn’t meant in the antisemitic way. I really wasn’t sure at first.

With all of the Lizzo drama I can’t help but think of this article that reexamines Madonna’s “Truth or Dare” tour documentary.. From slurs to laughing at the news of one of her makeup artists getting robbed and sexually assaulted..different times indeed!
