The first time I had escargot was at a fancy steakhouse and it came in the shell with garlic butter. It was a little chewy but really good. It’s the texture of a broiled oyster or clam. If you do ever try it I recommend trying it at an upscale restaurant. It’s probably not a dish I’d try to cook on my own.
Haven’t had French-style escargot, but I have had Chinese sea snails in chilli sauce. A bit chewie, but pretty good.

The view on people from Poland changed a lot here in the last 30 years.
Now they are considered „acceptable foreigners“. I think it’s very similar to what happened to the Irish in America, but the Irish had it better with already speaking the language.
Plus point for polish people:
They don’t look much different, some of them have a certain style, but if they don’t, you don’t see it until they speak.
People like the fact that they are not Muslims.

About the kid in my sons class. I didn’t talk about it last week because it was too hurtful for me.
He changed over the summer. He cool now.
Cool clothes, a cool haircut. He doesn’t look in my direction anymore and also the kids are bigger now so we are not supposed to to the Aufstellplatz ( the meeting place where the teacher pics them up in the morning) with them. So I see him way less often.
I think this relationship might be over for good.
