Hi Rod and Karen,
Knowing that you try to provide context to all things, I wanted to bring this bit of Coronavirus commentary to you.
I was watching the news and they were talking about the fact that thus far, fewer people have gotten the new COVID 19 vaccine than in previous years and. Are there people who have decided that COVID is in the rear view window of their lives, undoubtedly. However, having just come from get my vaccination, I see why those who got the shot before are not doing so now. The cost that I am fortunate enough to have my insurance cover in full was $185 because the government is no longer underwriting the cost. As a person with preexisting conditions, I would have had to figure out where the money was coming from, but I would have paid it because we’re talking about my life. I am lucky enough to be able to make that decision. But, what if I were uninsured or underinsured? What if instead of being single, I had to pay that amount for me and my kids and or elderly parents. I don’t know that I could or would be able to swing that.
Knowing this, the “People aren’t getting the vaccine” reports that don’t address the multiple factors that are impacting the low updated vaccination rate, just pisses me off.
P.S. The Drapetomaniax podcast was so damn good. Hopefully there will be a season 2.
Drapetomaniax final episode was amazing! Karen, you were great!
Also, the penultimate episode with that guy who nobody knew interviewing the cast was amazing!
Rod please forgive me for sleeping on Drapetomaniax. Love your voice acting!
Thanks for sharing Drapetomaniax with us – there really is nothing like it, very well done. Enjoyed hearing Karen on the last episode. Have a restful time off!
Checking in for the rasslin fan/dickhead demographic and y’all might not know that the padded folding chairs at the rasslin shows are the good floor seats. I haven’t been to the big Pay Per View shows in a while, but back when I used to go to the Royal Rumble or something like that, the expensive ass floor seats were those padded folding chairs with commemorative designs on them. You pay enough and you can leave with the chair.
In all honesty, Rod, I also thought that handing out folding chairs at the rasslin show was a bad idea, but at least they were the padded ones, and it probably helped out a little bit with packing up after the event.
Thanks for the show, and shout out to the chat room.
Yes, Historically Black Phrases! Got it on hold at my local library and reading Black AF History on my Kindle now. Can’t wait to get this new book!
Hope you enjoyed your well deserved week off! I’m listening to the archive on Spotify to keep me company; currently listening to a considerably shorter feedback episode 277 from February 25, 2012 called Mailbooya.

Listening to the Feedback show is education.
This time I learned that my givens name Dorothea is a black name in the US.
Imagine this on guess the race:
A couple, Andre and Dorothea went out to a Thai restaurant and Dorothea got into a fight because the food wasn’t spicy enough.
I can’t sing and my dancing is maybe C+, and it’s only because I’m very flexible and can move my body great but I don’t know about my rhythm. Or the actual moves. But hey, I still have the spicy food.
Don’t give up on your pursuit of a black friend Apia. I’m rooting for you!
Thanks! I believe it too.
