Greetings Rod Karen and Justin
Hope all is well and enjoy a week off from us.
Today I came across and article where in the state of Delaware they will be installing speed camera on the i95. Speed limit is 55 and if you go 11mph over you will get a prize in the mail. They say there has been 199 crashes recently in this one area where there is road work is being done, leaving workers vulnerable to cars. I know in New York on the interstate 495 which runs from Long Island to the Lincoln tunnel, in Manhattan, in construction areas, they started the same thing. All over nyc there are speed cameras as well as red light cameras. Is this a thing in charlotte as well?
Also shout out to Karen with the “folding chair “ streak, I see you girl! Lol

Salute Queen Karen, my small vein sister! Whew, the struggles I’ve had all my life! Doesn’t help that I’m fat too. Big needles, little needles, hand warmers, whatever they can do to make it work. My signal to people is just saying “good luck” and then they either ask me whether I’m a tough stick or they quickly figure it out.
Don’t know what it is, but Black folks have never had issues getting to the blood. One brother told me, “your veins are fine, they’re just deep” and just got it with no problem. Of course you know all the tips, but I would suggest hydrating beforehand with a least a pint of water and weigh lifting the day before; work out equals veins popping out!
Karen-I felt for your blood drawing episode. When I was out in Charlotte, I didn’t see too many Filipinos, but out here in California, I’d say 90% of nurses and healthcare workers are Filipino. I would only let a Filipino draw my blood. I’ve had others, and even though I don’t have small veins, these other people aren’t smooth with it — and it hurts! Filipinos are in and out, barely know it’s happening. It’s my people’s super power. Anyway, hopefully they listen to you next time.
Karen- i have the same issue at blood draws. Ask for the butterfly needles. They are tiny and hurt less as they figure out where your vein is. It helps.
