Hi y’all Felix here, first of all, just wanted to say shout-out to LJ, knew I wasn’t alone in the physical media enjoyers club. But also was interesting to hear the other opinions. From my perspective having gone back and forth from the UK and Zambia it made me remember not everywhere has easy access to internet and electricity, because of the drought this year the hydro electric plants haven’t been able to generate as much power as they usually do and scheduled power cuts have become a new normal for my relatives over there. Made me wanna not rely on streaming as much but also since last episode prime video and netflix removed more shows I was watching so I’m glad I made the switch in any case. At least owning the shows I really enjoy was a worthwhile investment.
Onto the nerd news. Man I swear to god George RR Martins got a lotta nerve. On the one hand I understand wanting a bar for bar adaptation as this show is adapting finished material but on the other, it’s insane to me bro couldn’t just scream at the people he’s beefing with over the phone and avoided the fallout if what he’s done. Of all fandoms I thought for sure the GOT fans wouldn’t be this insufferable seeing as brudda hasn’t even finished his bloody book yet but overnight im seeing people switch up on not just season 2 but season 1.
This all also ignoring the last minute episode cut and the show still filming during the strikes and not having writers on set in that time. George going so hard after the writers and condol in particular just gives me the ick. I hope they sort this out behind the scenes because this ain’t the smoking gin he thought it was. Just crazy he’s mad at fellow writers and not the WB execs who have been making a lot of the bone headed decisions affecting WB right now.
Next, I don’t know if y’all have been following but it’s been upsetting me seeing all the layoffs happening in the animation industry during these strikes. I knew it was gonna be rough but so many people at so many studios being laid off, my homies working on castlevania been laid off one by one and it sucks to see. Hopefully they get what they’re demanding in these negotiations because the industry has needed this for a long time. Lord knows I wish we could strike in the UK too but our union is kneecaped by the laws over here like most labour unions. Sad state of affairs.
Lastly, I finished my second game this year, I played the crisis core final fantasy 7 remake on switch in the first half of the year and now after 70 hours I finished cyberpunk and the dlc. So glad I waited until every last patch and dlc was out. Amazing game in its current state. Sorry to the people who had to suffer through the growing pains but in the end, I was victorious haha.

Quick Coral Island update. I got the Under water & heritage ranks up to S tier while the rest are still A. I need 1 fossil to finish the museum still & 2 attractions away from finishing those.
Karen, did you say you’d tried Planet Zoo? The next lot of dlc comes out in just under 3 weeks with 13 new animals. I’ll open my 3rd zoo in franchise mode once that comes out & use the new animals in it.

Been on an old-school kick lately with the Tomb Raider Remaster collection. It includes games 1-3 & DLC that was originally released on PC. When I first played it with the “modern” controls, It took me, at least twenty to thirty minutes to learn how to climb up a ledge in the game’s very first level in Peru. Embarrassing & hilarious, at the same time. Eventually, I beat the first level in Peru & just got to the final levels of game in Egypt & Atlantis. I also never beat it the first time when I owned it on PlayStation. That Midas Palace level in Greece was kicking my ass that I just quit. Stepping on that golden hand, platforming, was just not worth it. Think the collection is $30 altogether & while the series has gotten much better, starting with 2006’s Legend to the latest game in the series, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it was worth going back to the one that started it all & beat those overly precise ass games.
Speaking of “modern” Tomb Raider, beat the Baba Yaga DLC in Rise of the Tomb Raider (still got a few documents to collect; need a grappling hook) & that was a very intense boss fight. Not too difficult but a trippy level, nonetheless with the poisonous plants & guilt-ridden grandmother causing all kinds of havoc. Probably once I beat Tomb Raider 1, I’ll return my attention to Rise, I’ve just been jumping back & forth between those games, Street Fighter 6 (actually won two online fights before losing my last three, lol.) & I need to return to Power Wash Simulator ASAP. Bought lots of DLC for it & just nearing base game completion.
Finally, Capcom & Microsoft got off their bullshit & the Marvel vs. Capcom & Fighting Collection 2 is coming to XBOX. Still plan on buying it for PS4 (you just never know when shit’ll get delisted) & when it arrives on XBOX, I’ll buy it there, too. I’m still bad at these fighters, but I’m not getting any younger & would like to improve & have a good time.
