Have you seen this new OffBall that launched this past weekend? It’s basically a newsletter/feed that curates the news for you (in this specific case, sports news), and will send you to posts or articles. There is so much JUNK out there, between non fact-checked pieces to Hot Take panderers – I don’t have the energy to sift through all of it to get to the good stuff. The site is founded by actual media persons– one is the former editor-in-chief for Sports Illustrated – so they have some gravitas. For someone like me, this is exactly what I need in this ever-evolving media space, and truthfully, what I come to TBGWT for. Rod, I come here for your Wyatt Earp and For My Man-type recommendations. And I know that I have also asked you what sports people or media people you follow. So TBGWT has already been curating for me. Anyway, I am always watching to see how this media space changes, and this service is much needed. Keep sending the recommendations!

Hey y’all, I just want to give the latest episode of The Gray Area big props. It’s on cynicism & why cynics do the things they do. Thought it was a great listen & will get the book from the author who researched it.

Greetings Rod K dot and justin,

Well the other k dot just got tapped for the Super Bowl, and there’s mixed reviews. One person who appears to have a problem with it is Nicki Minaj. I don’t think her problem is necessarily with Kendrick (or maybe it is) but I think it’s more so with the fact lil Wayne not headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. Unfortunately Jay-z is being attacked, but did anyone ever stopped to think maybe Apple, who is funding the halftime show may not have wanted lil Wayne? Or perhaps other sponsors? As you said on the regular show rod, he is not really the image people gonna wanna see for 15 mins with the face tattoos and looking high off god knows what. Juvenile also said F Roger goddell! You gon come in New Orleans, make money, and leave, but this ain’t the first Super Bowl in Nola, why no one ever pitched for Wayne prior? It’s only know we on a black winning streak with the halftime shows, that people wanna complain and make noise? Cmon you gotta love Kendrick, he ain’t been missing. From this beef started! The Super Bowl commercial, he still subbing, or taking jabs at the Canadian guy, and you could only imagine what he got cooking up for February.

I started watching fight night on peacock, starring Kevin hart, and It got a black ass cast. 3 episodes dropped for the debut and I must say it’s pretty good. Obviously it is a limited series, because it can’t be sustained with that kinda star power and scheduling, and money. Taraji, Sam Jackson, Chloe Bailey, even Mercer from the walking dead are just a few of the stars on the show.

Lastly I wanna say RIP to James Earl jones who we just lost at 93! That iconic deep voice with always be remembered. Growing up he did the bell Atlantic phone commercials and my favorite line from coming to America “MY SON WORKS???”
    lol

    Appreciate you guys

    Salutations my favs,

I’m back again, I watched Marlon Wayans on Shay Shay & I figured it out (good episode it was btw). It’s that Shannon’s cognac, it’s the rival of Scottie Pippen’s liquor. They both get the untrained yapping away. I might just get a bottle, got a target who I believe is a Russian asset, time to interrogate!

I got a podcast for recommending: Volts and the episode is “How to activate climate voters”
stay pumpkin spiced up my brethren!

    Salutations my fav podcast cousins,

I forgot about the Wed switch so ended up listening to Tyrese on Shay Shay after Chris Lamberth kinda gave it the okay (I’m gonna msg him). Was Tyrese hilarious, yes and my goodness that brother needs to shush. The mess was good so I kept listening and rotating from laughing to wtf . I didn’t even catch it from the beginning, damn you Chris! I just know that what he said about the Jewish community (had to let us know that he has a kid who’s Jewish) been said a billion times about how Black people never come together and that’s how I knew that he was a waste of time. Man was good at making fun of Shannon and Akon tho hahaha. The crazy thing is that I really enjoyed Shannon’s interviews of Oscar De La Hoya and John Cena, only to be brought back to earth by Tyrese. Vin Diesel get your man. I should have watched Cowboy Wars, but after KOAS. I’m in a messy mood and that show got some messy stuff.

Btw ya’ll seen Lee Daniel’s “The Deliverance “? Heard the discussion about it on the Mundane Festival oh my oh my!

What’s going on podcast fam, hope y’all doing well.

I know I’m a week late, but I just finished that Bing Bishop podcast and it was a wild ride. The only thing that was missing was a first hand perspective of the people who supported him and went to his church.

That got me to thinking though. If there was a Bing Bishop type dude in the Charlotte area, would y’all attend a service just to see some of the fuckery in person?

    Peace
    Mike M.
