    G’Day Nerds,

    3 eps in & I’m enjoying Agatha. It’s been quirky & weird so far & I’m in.

The Thunderbolts trailer looks fun as well.

Went to a comic con here last week & got a pic with Giancarlo Esposito & also got him to sign a Gus Fring funko in a blue pen like the colour of the shit they selling in the show.

He was really nice & when he signed it, he wrote Wonga & asked if that was my name. I said my surname is Wong & we spoke for 3-4 minutes about how me & my brothers & his kids being mixed have different features from both sides of the parents. He said he enjoyed the fascinating conversation & said I was a nice guy.

    Cheers
    Wonga

Hi y’all, Felix here. First of all, don’t remember if it came up when you discussed Creature Commandos but the movie is apparently animated by the studio that did that suspiciously well animated Invincible season 2 teaser that looked way better than the season ended up looking. It’s a french studio that’s really well known so I’m extremely excited for that despite them not using that many standout scenes for the trailers.

Ok onto other things, I got a lot of comic book reading done recently. I finally got around to finishing X-Men red, immortal X-Men, hellfire gala and Fall of the house of/Rise of the powers of X. All things considered they ended the Krakoa era as best as they possibly could in my opinion. The fact they managed something decent for Moiras character in there too after years of her not doing much in any books I was reading is a small miracle. I’ve tried reading some of the new X-Men stuff that launched recently but I can’t say it grabbed me. Gonna miss Krakoa because I was so extremely locked in for that run.

On the PS5 pro, all imma say is the nerve of these guys man. Can’t help but laugh. How are they expecting to sell that when there’s like 5 games bruh. Anyway I’m just waiting for the switch 2 I guess now. Praying it gets some bioware games because I’ve been avoiding giving in and getting a steam deck for a year.

Next, I’ve been loving Agatha All Along. As a longtime Kathryn Hahn truther it’s Been extremely validating. Plus that Aubrey Plaza scene was the most insane chemistry I’ve seen in the MCU in a while. Can’t wait to see where things go.

on comics again. I don’t know what the fuck DC is doing to me bruh. I just finished reading that recent JSA book and Geoff Johns just retconned the recent Bendis run of the Legion of Superheroes and I’m so extremely pissed. I don’t understand how the legion of superheroes can go on when Johns can just come in at the end of every new run and retcon it, like how am I supposed to stay invested. It makes me so sad. I wish the minor DC teams wouldn’t get stuck in ruts like this because they could do so much with the legion in today’s climate but they just refuse. Bendis did some interesting stuff but because a couple things he did didn’t hit with the older fans they get their way and the old geriatric legion with no drip and all white characters is back. Anyway sorry to vent but I haven’t read a lot of DC recently because of things like this.

Lastly, that sinners trailer was so peak. I can’t wait to see Michael B Jordan and Micheal C Jordan do their thing haha. Anyway love y’all, Felix out.

    Hello Rod, Karen & nerds.

So now we’re at the stage of a brand new “pro” style console in the current generation, which is fine. I’m even fine with the high-cost of the I ain’t got $700 PS5 Pro. However, the fact they had to get rid of the disc drive & the stand is hilarious. Fuck, I don’t even want the pro, even if there’s the temptation of playing games in “Fidelity” mode in 4K 60 FPS.

We’re past the point of a system being able to exceed whatever were impossible graphical dimensions. The last generation was that example & all we’re seeing now is Sony sell more of the same. Microsoft’s not even trying to do that. Nintendo’s like “graphics”? Nigga, we’ll see you Super Mario Sunshine for the 20th time & y’all eat it up, not to mention the vast success of the Switch as a brand. I want a PS5, but without the bells & whistles of a definitive PS5, because the “standard” one was already powerful to begin with. Same for Xbox Series S|X. Not to mention, for nearly thirty years, PlayStation already had a roster of games to rival Nintendo. It was in their words, “always about the games”. Now, what, is it about the grift? No matter how this new console is intended, FEELS grifty. Microsoft, smartly, decided to not do a full-on pro console, since the X is powerful enough.

You can improve a toaster with all of these new bells & whistles, it’s still a toaster at the end of the day. A game console already has all of these tools. Be happy with what you got. The gaming industry badly needs to be reminded of that, but gotta jerk off shareholders, I guess?

Finally beat the original Tomb Raider & gotta say, game of its time. It was fun revisiting a game I never beat the first time & they have a New Game+ option once the game is beaten. Idk if I have the tolerance for it, however. The later entries got absurdly hard with tons of traps in TR 2 & 3, it became unfun, eventually. The later games from 2006 to now, knew how to balance challenge better, anyway. In fairness, I do like TR 2 a good amount, you’re just raiding as much, going to Venice & a ship, for example. The series is in a better place, but it was nice to look back at yesteryear.

    Take care, y’all.
