Thank you for your great feedback show, as always.

I want to join Shoebootie in admiring your restraint in responding to the transphobe (and a linguistic note, phobe in transphobe and Islamaphobe refer to aversion rather than fear).

Shoebootie covered how they are being used as a scapegoat, I would like to add that nobody is changing their sex, it is about adjusting appearance to match their gender. This isn’t about XX v XY (there are actually eight known phenotypes for XY people assigned female at birth, to start getting into the actual complexity of the sex side of the equation). And guess what, unless you have been genetically tested you do not know how many X and/or Y chromosomes you have. It doesn’t matter, this is about how people’s brains are wired because gender is psychological, not physical. And it is not a disorder, it is simply how we were made.

Props to Rod for not going in on the transphobe. I hesitate to call them a TERF because the “radical feminist” part of that phrase is neither. It’s not about respecting or protecting women or ensuring equality among all genders. If the bathroom wars were really about protecting women, there would be active legislative works to actually protect women (and men, and them), such as a Domestic Assault Harassment and Stalking registry, much like the sex offender registry. THAT is something that would protect women. Trans folks are not the threat or the issue that needs addressing.

Yes we’ll take that vote, but I’ll never be quiet about trying to advocate for human rights. Period.

    Hi Rod and Karen!

Please forgive me in advance for keeping the Drake ish going. Fckn Problems by ASAP Rocky is on my workout playlist. Maybe I’m late and pointing out the obvious, but the other day I realized Drake’s verse supports what Kendrick has been saying. It’s too much to type, but you’ll both notice if you listen.

Anywho….Thank you both for being my cousins in my head. Listening to your show has gotten be through some rough times and I’m grateful

    Hey Rod and Karen!

I haven’t made a comment in forever cause I’m extremely shy, but y’all and the podcasts you aling with have been my balm during this time. I haven’t met another TBGWT fan out in the wild, but I have put on one of my younger guy friends to the show and I always mention it when we talk politics.

He actually voted for Jill Stein for his first election he could take part in *inserts Scooby-Doo thinking “Rigga” meme* but for this one he shared my passion in being Pro-Kamala all the way and I thank part of that due to him maturing as a person and also what I would mention what you both would talk about on the pod.

You put me on to the fact a lot of these online progressives (that are usually white but not always) never take into consideration the deep poison that is racism and misogyny and how that is baked into our society and its effects on this election.

Watching a lot of these “Twitch Progressive/YouTube essayists” and the fact some of these fools opened their mouths to go on and on about everything wrong with the Harris campaign, I just found myself saying fuck it and unsubscribing from a lot of their content.

Lately, I’ve been engaging more with my “comfort stuff” which has been older anime, Marvel, horror films and live DJ playlists on YouTube and Twitch.

Anyway that was a long comment. I wish the both of you a wonderful Christmas and I’ll continue to listen into the new year.

P.S. Sorry, adding more into this already long ass comment but Rod, you always mention the interesting intersections of social media, clout, unchecked trauma/mental illness and how that plays out online, and I would like to recommend some anime/Japanese films that were ahead of their time in some of themes you discuss on the main show and “This Too Much”: Paranoia Agent and Perfect Blue, both by the late amazing anime director/animator Satoshi Kon and the live action Japanese films “Suicide Club” and “Kairo” (Pulse). I’d love to get both of y’all thoughts on those works whenever the time comes.

    Love You Rod and Karen!❤️

Before I met the awesome Apia, Saw Rae Sanni once but she was with her crew and they were deep in convo that I never saw a good window to say hi. Once I ran past BrooklynShoeBae but I had just teleported from 3 universes away for a meeting and was off my pace, so made a note to myself to say hi after the meeting was over. However, someone tried to sell me a collapsing skyscraper so I had to run to the next universe fast and forgot about saying hi and for some weird reason haven’t been back there. Meeting Apia was great. Then I found out that I am not the only Ijaw listener and Port Harcourt G of the TBGWT. To my fellow Ijaw msg me via BlueSky let’s come up with a new hustle on Rod. Oh btw if there’s a Benin, Warri, Yenagoa, Calabar fam out there holler. A TBGWT Niger Delta hustle incoming on Rod …

I heard my good friend Evie is learning a language. Just throwing this out there, Babbel & Rosetta Stone are offering a lifetime deals onetime payment along with a few language apps. Brooklyn Public library offers free access to Mango for learning languages. I got Babbel and combining Mango, hope it helps.

Love how we’re just calling Germany “Apia’s country” now lmao

    • RoninRaphael

It is, I had a word with the outgoing Chancellor of Germany and he signed it into law. It’s Apia’s country now. It’s da law!

    • ApiafromGermany

Agree. The G country could use a rebranding, and im here to help.
      BTW.
As an immigrant life can be hard, especially in the beginning. So now, as a reward I allow myself fully to pick and choose.
Born in Poland, spend the first 12 years there, now my life is gernan, my husband is german the language I speak the most is german, my passport is german.
According to my mood and what’s fitting I claim the one or the other. I’m German or a woman from Poland, It’s only fair after all ths hardships.

The black guy who tips went internal!
The universe wanted clearly fo RoninRaphael and Apia to meet, because in the morning they left, I was anyway at the airport hotel for a conference and they arrived at the airport 1 hour before it started. So it really worked out!
RoninRaphael is so sweet and his family as well!
And he has so may great business ideas.
He told me a genius idea, as he said himself, a luxury cruise for cats. Imagine, you love your cat, but worry, that it might be bored. A cruise with other fancy cats will change that. With laser pointer chaising Olympics, lots of nap time and all the cat nip a at could wish for. And
a ship is surrounded by water, and cats hate water, so they couldn’t get lost.
For only 10 000 I can buy a share in it. I’m so lucky. Thank you for introducing me to greatness.
