What it do Rod, Karen and Jirk Herbstreit
I hope all is well.
Rod, you said a word talking about how paternalistic NBA ratings chatter (and other complaints) and it being driven by anti-blackness. Especially juxtaposed against the NFL’s acceptance and popularity not being hinged on quality. Bad football can have novelty and charm to it; Lord knows I’m guilty of watching it (shouts out to the Sickos Committee) and while nobody wants to watch bad basketball…basketball is fucking awesome right now!
But with the way it feels like a lotta conversations about the NBA go, you’d think the NBA was about to go under.
Speaking of the NBA did y’all have any favorite moments or games from this Christmas?
Random Fact: Freddie Kitchens is UNC football’s interim head coach for their bowl game tomorrow. After the bowl game, Belichik will be the third former Browns head coach to in Chapel Hill. I guess UNC football has a type lol?
Oh and get Kirk Herbstreit wack ass off my TV. He was complaining about the college football playoff games being blowouts and then caping up for Ole Miss and Bama to have been in; ESPN still has a deal with the SEC, so he ain’t a neutral party in this but does reflect a growing negative strain from ESPN. This ain’t Chuck and Shaq joke-complaining about NBA games neither.
I hope y’all had a wonderful holiday and have a wonderful weekend and New Year!
“Christmas is our day.” Mic F-cking Drop.
Lebron has been such an ambassador for the NBA. I really hope one of these young guys will emerge to take the torch.
