In Steve A voice please… in these times that we find ourselves, it’s high time that Black Community stops being torn apart by external distractions and let’s address the elephant in the room. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO BOYCOTT people who disrespect middle names bearers ugh ugh I ask the community when? I need an update now!

Thanks for this great breakdown as always Rod and Karen are the BEST, don’t ya’ll agree. If you don’t agree, I BOYCOTT you immediately!

I’m often amazed at how one party wants people to get jobs based on their race, sex, gender, religion, and sexual orientation… but the Democrats are the ones painted as being against meritocracy… listen, if you are a mediocre cis-het white christian guy, you are the one who was hired based on your race.

Thanks for the thoughtful commentary around Tabitha Brown and Target. I will not be boycotting Target or any other retailer that doesn’t align with my belief. Doing so would result in limited options for goods. I’m disappointed by Target’s stance, but not surprised.

I haven’t been to Target since the shut down. The long lines and junky stores took a lot of their shine… but if that’s where I can get Black brands I’ll be up in there. I agree with much of what Rod said- it’s a knee-jerk, emotional, unorganized response that won’t last longer than the news cycle. It’s not national, it’s not publicized, it’s about 1300 people on Joy Ann Reid’s comment section. Please, not when the Montgomery Bus Boycott was over a year and well-organized with failsafe ways for us to support each other and it hit Montgomery in their pockets. We are ALREADY infighting on what the tactic should be and there is no way for us to support our Black businesses and make sure they stay afloat.
In addition, Target will not feel a thing. And even if they do, I don’t think they care because it won’t be a short lived hit. Them other folks are HAPPY to come shop at Target bc they dumped DEI.

Companies do what’s best for companies.
They thought doing those initiatives would help them with image and in the end, with profit. But they cost money.
If the measures don’t give return on invest, they will be gone.
It’s pretty rare that a company does it out of conviction.

    LGBT and right wing politics.
We have an election next month. Our right wing party, AFD, is like the republicans in the US. Elon now openly supports them and does endorsements.
Fun fact. The top candidate is a lesbian woman who is married to a woman from Sri Lanka and they have two children.
It confuses me completely and I can’t fit it into my head.
She has all the right wing sayings you know from your country but also she says, family is there children are.
    How.

Members of a minority group leading or supporting oppression, no longer surprises me. Someone who I have finally cutoff from my life, got a scholarship to Germany and that’s how he left Nigeria along with the email scams that he was into. It should have been a positive story, but he somehow fell in love with AFD while in Stuttgart and started sending me videos. First was of a Black man complaining in German about way too many immigrants from Afghanistan and Syria in Germany. I knew that the person speaking had an African background, & it was an AFD event. I asked former pal, after you kick out the Afghans and Syrians, they’ll let you stay? He has Muslim names btw. I boycotted him forever!!!

I’m the best in boycotting Target.
We don’t have a Target in Germany. So i promise you, I will never shop there.
Instead we have a DM. It’s such a nice store. That’s why Target has no chance here.

There’s also TMaxx the Deutsch equivalent of TJ Max, I would boycott that cause they never have my size and deals at the same time. Eventhough I don’t shop at TJ Max over here, I’m boycotting them too.
