Salutations Rod, Karen and Justin! Let me also extol the virtues of the Doubletree cookie! Now I don’t go anywhere ever, so I didn’t know anything about them, but they released the recipe online at the beginning of the pandemic, and all my traveling brethren said this was a big deal. After making my tweaks (liberal dose of cinnamon, whole bag of milk chocolate chips, reduce the amount of pecans and chop in a 4 oz bar of semi-sweet chocolate), I’ve got a banger. People have paid me to make these cookies!

Howdy NC Couzins,
I just started watching this show on Prime that’s Black, set in Alabama and with LGBTQIA very hilarious. A simple good time about a dad and a trans daughter reconnecting after 23 years. I thought that Karen might appreciate it along with anyone looking for a different kind of black southern comedy. It’s called Clean Slate.
I’ve owned 2 Hybrid cars at this point and the switching between EV and Gas Engine modes can take getting used to but it’s usually pretty seamless other than you being able to feel the engine turning off and on.
My first car could only go up to 40mph in EV mode, but if you went faster than that, it would just turn the engine back on automatically.
My current car can do highway speeds in EV mode (depending on the battery level) and it just turns the Engine on and off as needed automatically, with no noticeable change in engine power.
They’ve had hybrids figured out for like 2 decades now, so it seems really weird to me that you would be driving a hybrid in 2025 and it would get stuck in EV mode and unable to go any faster than 40 (like that shitty truck with the wooden shed in the back in Terminator 2, “This is the vehicle’s top speed!”)
