You all touched on some good stuff as usual. Always brings something to mind. Last week you mentioned that kids music went away. I think that those songs went away with actual radio versions of songs. Now they just mute curse words instead of coming up with clever radio replacements (and honestly, some of the old radio versions were better/catchier than when you finally heard the raw version, to me). Similarly, with kids, instead of making songs written for kids, they just make Kids Bop versions of regular pop songs, but even worse, they do it all under the Kids Bop brand so none of those kids really gets to be their own group.
On your point about women governing, it’s wild that outside of a few blue states, it seems that most women that reach governor do so in red states (AL, AK, AR, SC, SD, etc). And none of those are particularly impressive as leaders, but they toe the line and repeat the talking points like no other. Sadly, I don’t know if we’ll end up with one of those at President before we get a democrat.
And lastly, your comments on the algorithm re: platforming left leaning people that slam Dems vs ones that share accomplishments really resonated. And it’s also why I get so irritated by the ones in legacy media that spend all their time talking about poor communication from the Dems instead of using their platform to inform their listeners/viewers. Like, YOU ARE THE MEDIA, YOU TELL THE STORY! When I’m talking to my wife about this stuff, I sound like Karen when she’s wound up.
Take care, y’all.
Congrats CRBL on the first comment!
The last American election teached me some new live lessons.
Nothing matters besides the Election Day in politics. No discussions, no arguments, no conflicts with people in your environment.
The negative narrative only helps extreme political voices.
We have an election very soon, the AFD is like the republicans minus the guns. They want to send immigrants back, they have neo liberal views on the economy, and to protect the conservative view of family. Elon loves them.
And the main person is gay woman.
I’m not watching any debates or talk about the election with anyone but Mr Apia.
I will vote, as I always do, and vote for someone sane and not right wing.
But all the noise before it only helps the extremists and the media, in the way a highly watched reality tv program would.
I have traded seats with someone, but not for the typical (I want to sit next to _______, but didn’t want to pay extra to select a seat, so you should just give up the seat you pre-selected and often paid extra for seat to me, because I feel entitled) reason. It was literally the same seat, in what was a better row. They purchased their tickets on different dates, and obviously, could not get the person in the better seat to switch, so I lucked out.
