3052: Happy Meals For Adults

Rod and Karen banter about being ready to go home when you’re out with a group, the Accountant sequel, buying individual pots, a funny baby Karen saw at a game, and an adult happy meal. Then they discuss Jay-Z’s not guilty, Nancy Mase, Eric Adams has charges dropped, Mark Robinson dropped CNN lawsuit, LGBTQ News, woman convicted of sex with a dog, man caught sniffing socks at Funplex, fingerprint on Goldfish package leads to arrest and sword ratchetness.

As your friendly neighborhood Brooklyn librarian, I want to thank you for your sympathy regarding Eric Adams because he really is the worse. Also, if you follow the voting trends of the last 10 years, NYS has become a purple state. As a matter of fact, NYC is the only reason we’re not a red state. Staten Island, one of the 5 boroughs and the home of NYC white flight, always goes red. The section of Brooklyn where I live shares a Congressional district with Staten Island, so I live and work in a red area. I can’t tell you how hard it is to politely assist people who watch Fox all day and red the NY Post. Doesn’t help that they’re all retired seniors so they just stay in the neighborhood. As part of my job duties, I have to attend and speak for the library at community board meetings. They all seem alright, just loud New Yorkers as we all are, complaining about the lack of parking and then they say something that drips with racism or xenophobia. *Sigh* Sorry, do not mean to trauma dump. Appreciate you both.

    P. S. I was listening to Karen Hunter and she mentioned Rod, and my 17 year old got super excited thinking Karen had a spin off podcast. It was a cute moment. They rooting for your success.

Most sets that aren’t fully customizable are put together to average the needs of a basic or beginner whatever. I learned the key to sets is to not overextend on them but try everything and learn what you really need. When you know enough to really invest in the specific pieces you use and what you like and dislike about using those pieces, you purchase individual pieces accordingly.
Another method is to buy a set for aesthetics and never touch it, like Will Smith said, “It’s for the look…”

Rod’s Accountant Puns took me OUT! There are two movies I have to keep in my Hulu list to watch whenever I please: San Andreas (I don’t know, I love a natural disaster movie) and The Accountant. I am on pins and needles waiting wait to see Accountant 2.

Also, I work in Accounts Payable so I was rocking with your accounting jokes!! This is too long to play on the show, but this Monty Python accounting short, “The Crimson Permanent Assurance”, is SO FUNNY:

We have pots and pans money, but I never bought a set.
I have pots I got from my parents when I moved out, they were good quality so they are still great and I cook about every day.
The sets also don’t have what I need, or better has too many pots I don’t need.
Now I recently bought 2 iron pans. All I needed. So my pot and pan behavior is not negative motivated at all!
